FamousWhy Editor: Barricade is an interesting board game with a nice concept and a great design. 4 players can play Barricade in the same time (human players or computers). The goal in Barricade is to stop your opponent(s) to reach the end of the board before you.
Each player can roll a dice and move his pieces (5 of them) on board according to the rolled number (from 1 to 6).
You can move both forward and backwards. The only things that "blocks" your way are the "barricades". You can't "jump" over a barricade and the only way to avoid it is the roll a number which will place one of your 5 pieces on top of it. When that happens, your piece will replace the barricade on board and you can place that barricade wherever you want. The idea is to block your opponents as well as you can.
I will give you a small example for a better understanding of this game concept. Let's say you have a piece on board and two barricades near it (one 3 spaces in front and the other one 6 spaces behind). If you roll 4, you can only move your piece 4 spaces behind because you can't jump over the first barricade. However, if you roll 3, you can move your piece over the first barricade and replace it.
From graphical point of view, Barricade is extremely simple. It is a 2D game but with a nice design. There are no animations but this game is not based on graphic but on strategy and gameplay. From my personal experience I can say that graphic is the last thing you should worry when we talk about games and Barricade is here to confirm that.
All in one, Barricade is a funny board game which can be played with your friends or against computers (the AI is quite strong).
