Gold Chest is a new game, but with an old style, because it is based on the old gold box styled games. This game has the exact same look and feel like the old gold box games, while it brings to it newer sounds, graphics, music and even network play.
Even though it is based on the gold box games, this game is not clone because each feature is re-evaluated and improved.
Multiple weapons can be carried at all time, and when you fight, the combat icons are changed so it shows you what weapon is used by your character.
At the moment, the developer still works on the game to improve the class system, because 4 basic classes will exist (fighters, thieves, mages and clerics). More tactics will be in combat mode. Dual weapons will exist, monster disarming and disguises will be used. More detailed economy will also be a future feature.
Now, you can benefit from the basic game layout with true 3D perspective view and movement. You can save and restore the game and you can generate your character. Skills and abilities are in place, inventory management as well. You can have monster encounters and basic interactive mode.
If you decide to play Goldchest, you will need Java 6 installed. The free download is a setup jar file and you can run it with double click, usually. If double click doesn't work, you can run it from command line if you run JAVA -jar goldchest-setup.jar.
Why is Goldchest famous?
Goldchest is famous because it brings back the old times, and this is fun, because we are all craving for the past, in our hearts.
