Initially, Jpegcrop was designed to provide a powerful user interface for the new Jpegtran (crop feature). However, Jpegcrop evolved and became "stand alone" software with various features and options.

Now, Jpegcrop is a nearly complete user interface replacement for the old Jpegtran. You can use Jpegcrop to view your images, rotate them, zoom in and out, crop, transpose and much more.
From my point of view, Jpegcrop can now realize with the more popular IrfanView.

Just like IrfanView, Jpegcrop is completely free and this is a huge advantage. There are so many similar products that require a payed license or a small monthly "donation" in order to use them. Jpegcrop is completely free and it can be downloaded and used without any problems.

Really important: Jpegcrop can also be used as a portable application. It does not require installation. Simply download and run the executable file from your computer. If we must make a comparison between Jpegcrop and IrfanView (Irfan requires installation), I would say that Jpegcrop is far more "handy" from this point of view.
