PESplash comes with a unique idea and a great utility (especially today when even the most common application or idea is stolen). Basically, this small software can "hide" a text inside an .exe file (executable).

Like this, you can track down your applications and you can know who is downloading them, who tries to change the source code or you can know if an application receives some modifications inside the executable file to be released as something different later.

PESplash is extremely easy to use. It doesn’t require installation; all you have to do is to run the .exe file. PESplash comes with a simple interface. First, you can load an .exe file from your computer (a browsing system is going to help you with that). You can save the resulting .exe file under any name you want. The second section is the "Hide and Seek" zone. There are two options here: you can either search for hidden text inside an .exe file or you can hide your own text. To hide a text simply types the desired words and press "Hide". To retrieve a text simply press "Retrieve".

Please note that if there is no text to retrieve (the .exe file is clean), PESplash won’t display you anything or it may show you some ASCII characters.
Before you add your text, it is recommended to check how much free space is available on that .exe file. Some may know this: every .exe file has a few bits of free space (more than enough to add a short text). Usually, a standard .exe file comes with 16-20bits of free space, enough for a few words.
