FW Editor: SpeedRunner is an interesting application. It is true that its code is based on Total Commander's code?
Andrey Pleskatsevich: Are you joking? Total Commander is not open source project, so its code not available to public.

FW Editor: Can you tell us a few things about the file management possibilities that SpeedRunner provides?
Andrey Pleskatsevich: SpeedRunner designed for fast manage of massive arrays of files. It allows you to plan data streaming on your storages. SR easily connects all your devices and places (Disks, LAN, FTP, RemoteFS servers, Virtual disks and more) into Virtual File System. Also you can create your own logical folders hierarchy with feature called Libraries. Of course SR can perform any basic operations with your data - copy, move, rename, delete, backup, split, merge, search, open data with correspond application and etc.

FW Editor: What brings SpeedRunner new? Why would a random user choose SpeedRunner over a similar application or even over the common Windows Explorer?
Andrey Pleskatsevich: SpeedRunner is task focused file manager. You can run so many tasks as you need, and all of them will running in background allowing you to focus on your primary task. At any time you can press F1 to see the progress. Also SpeedRunner has automatic update system - this is new for file manager and allows you to retrieve new features without any move of fingers :) In version 2.0 called Mercury we've added SDK, so any other developers can enhance SR feature list by creating their own Extension, Application or Widget (press F4 to see Windgets screen). In new version 2.5 called Earth we've added Phoenix Sync engine (works like Opera Link) and Pinned Tabs panel (allows you navigate even faster than Bookmark panel).

FW Editor: At this moment, SpeedRunner supports only Windows platforms. Do you have any plans to release a Linux or Mac OS X version as well?
Andrey Pleskatsevich: We don't plan to release Linux version of SR, but we plan to release it for Mac OS. Possible it we be done after we release v2.5 Earth.

FW Editor: Which is, from your point of view, the most important feature incorporated in SpeedRunner?
Andrey Pleskatsevich: Virtual File System that aggregates all your storage devices and network places. Task focus - you can perform many tasks at once, and it so easy to control it.
