FW Editor: What are your plans or objectives in the near future?
FW Editor: How and when did you start writing the code for Tastiera? What inspired you the most? Do you plan to develop new software, or are you more focused on optimizing the current ones?
Coq: Tastiera originated from a need to learn choral parts in a small student room where no piano was available.
FW Editor: Tastiera is one of the best dashboard widgets from the market. What is the secret?
Coq: This is not much of a secret, but the explanation might be that it was originally made to fill a specific need felt by the developer.
FW Editor: So far, Tastiera has received only positive reviews. Are you planning to improve this software even more?
Coq: Yes, we have some ideas for further improvements.
FW Editor: What are the advantages of using Tastiera over any other similar product?
Coq: Tastiera provides a larger selection of instruments/sounds than most similar products and sustains the note until the corresponding key is released, but the major advantage is its efficient use of the computer keyboard.
FW Editor: Are you accepting user's suggestions and ideas? If yes, how can a common user send these ideas to you?
Coq: Yes, users’ suggestions and ideas have very much shaped the development of Tastiera, and we are always interested in hearing from our users. Please have a look at our webpage for updated contact information.
FW Editor: What is your favorite Tastiera feature and why?
Coq: Tastiera maps 37 notes from three octaves to individual keys arranged in a familiar piano keyboard layout.
FW Editor: Can you tell us more about this feature? Why it is so important? Is Tastiera the same without it?
Coq: This feature is crucial because it makes Tastiera a usable piano replacement for certain uses, notably for travelling singers and composers. It has been important for us to make this work flawlessly for all keyboard layouts, which was finally achieved this summer after Apple implemented some changes we had suggested.
FW Editor: Do you have any message for Tastiera users? Is there anything you would like to share with them?
Coq: Thanks to everyone for using and supporting Tastiera. Please do not hesitate to get in touch via our website — your feedback is much appreciated.
