FW Editor: What are your plans or objectives for the near future?
Jake Stephen Jackson (Director): We want to become a well known, unique software company, that not only delivers fantastic products for all to enjoy, but for fair prices too.
FW Editor: How and when did you start writing the code for Element TotalProtect 2010? What inspired you the most? Do you plan to develop new software, or are you more focused on optimizing the current ones?
Jake Stephen Jackson (Director): We started writing plans for an antivirus solution back in 2007, which originally was refered as Element AntiVirus. However, as the software development cycle progressed, we added more features and named the product Element TotalProtect. It's had two versions before the current 2010 version, and we are aiming to deliver our 2011 version by early June this year.
Our inspiration come from when we ran a PC repair service, and we were amazed at just how many computer problems arose from prevelant malware running on client systems. Not only did we want to provide complete protection for users against these unwanted programs, but we also wanted to provide a fair, lifetime price for our service.
FW Editor: From your point of view, which is the strongest Element TotalProtect 2010 feature?
Jake Stephen Jackson (Director): Its performance, if it would be justifiable to call performance a feature these days, especially with antivirus software. Many of the internet security packages you see on the market in these recent times are effective, but are prone to slow systems down. Norton would be a fair example of one of these solutions.
Element TotalProtect has been proved to provide the best performance in any antivirus package without reducing its effectiveness against malware.
FW Editor: What new features should we expect in Element TotalProtect 2010 in the future?
Jake Stephen Jackson (Director): We regularly provide service updates to our customers to improve the experience of the product, but in terms of new features, our free upgrades to ETP 2011 will include features such as Heuristic scanning, providing protection against zero-day threats, new backup and restore features, tracks erasing and more integration with the cloud, providing users with a community where they can help each other resolve problems, and get one to one support with our reps.
FW Editor: Element TotalProtect 2010 is a great application and personally I love it. However, there are still many people who prefer to use similar software. What can you tell to convince them that Element TotalProtect 2010 is better?
Jake Stephen Jackson (Director): We are aware of free alternatives, but with free software, you always have the question in your mind; if its free, is it really doing what it should be doing?
We can't really answer that question of course, but what we can answer is that we have a dedicated team that can provide one to one support sessions with our customers, we provide fast updates, are always aiming to protect our customers against threats, and the products performance and effectiveness is unique to the market.
FW Editor: How can you describe Element TotalProtect 2010 in one single word?
Jake Stephen Jackson (Director): Protected.
FW Editor: Is there any full customer support service for Element TotalProtect 2010 clients? If not, do you plan to create one in the future?
Jake Stephen Jackson (Director): Yes. We provide an online support ticket system, which allow customers to send us attachments with detailed screenshots of a problem, we allow customers to send us suspicious files for our labs to analyze, we have one-to-one support via e-mail, dedicated support pages and direct support via telephone for UK customers. Also, our built in help and support pages are there to help customers getting started with our product quickly.
FW Editor: To end with, is there any message you would like to send to Element TotalProtect 2010 users?
Jake Stephen Jackson (Director): We are incredibly grateful to all Element TotalProtect 2010 users who have purchased our software and are using it to protect thier PCs. We hope you all enjoy using our product, as much as we did developing it. All in all, thank you for supporting Element Software UK.
