FW Editor: Can you tell us a few things about Houdah Software? When was this company founded? What are your plans for the future?
Pierre Bernard: Houdah Software was founded late 2005. Initially we focussed on WebObjects consulting. We soon followed up with two popular Mac applications: HoudahSpot and HoudahGeo.
FW Editor: Chord Board is your first developed application. Usually, a first application is not that successful but it is not the situation here and Chord Board becomes more and more popular. How can you explain that?
Pierre Bernard: Houdah Software was there when the iTunes AppStore first opened its doors. We started with 3 products: ACTCurrency (now Quid), ACTSudoku and ACTGratuity. Meanwhile Houdah Software has a respectable portfolio of iTunes applications.
FW Editor: Recently iPhone 4 was released. Is that device supported by Chord Board?
Pierre Bernard: Chord Board indeed fully supports the iPhone 4 and its Retina display.
FW Editor: For someone without knowledge in chords domain, Chord Board may be a bit confusing (at least in the beginning). Can you tell us a few things about chords and how this system works?
Pierre Bernard: The Chord Board is a slide rule. The center part is a two octave keyboard. Slide first note of chord required opposite "1". Notes necessary to complete chord(s) are opposite their respective numbers and/or colour-coded names.
FW Editor: It is true that Chord Board can be utilized as both teaching and learning tool? How?
Pierre Bernard: Chord Board is indeed a great tool to learn about chords and foster the understanding of how chords are built.
FW Editor: What are your plans with Chord Board? How do you intend to improve Chord Board?
Pierre Bernard: Our products are shaped by user feedback. We ourselves have a few ideas where Chord Board might go.
