FW Editor: What are your plans or objectives in the near future?
JD: Continue developing applications for the Windows Mobile platform, then start developing Android applications and luckily some iPhone development.
FW Editor: How and when did you start writing the code for PocketShield Protection Edition? What inspired you the most? Do you plan to develop new software, or are you more focused on optimizing the current ones?
JD: It actually started as a personal need in the times where phones didn't came with a lock screen (at least not a friendly one). Then I decided to refine it and try to make a bit of extra money out of it, as a part time hobby. Through time it took me more time each time, new features, support, improvements, more options. I finally quit my job and started this company to give the software the support and quality it deresved.
FW Editor: What is the most important feature that can be found in PocketShield Protection Edition? Why?
JD: It started with a very particular feature, which is the automatic unlocking using the light sensor and the proximity sensor and the accelerometer. Today it gives a wide variety of unlocking methods so the user can pick and setup the ones that suit him better. It is very versatile in that way, I believe indeed is the only lock app giving such flexibility and easy configuration.
FW Editor: Are you planning to upgrade PocketShield Protection Edition? What new features shall we expect from this software?
JD: We have recently made important upgrades like skinning capabilities, hardware keys remapping. We have some other "secret" ideas to be implemented in the future.
FW Editor: Which phone platforms are supported by PocketShield Protection Edition?
JD: For now Windows Mobile only. Hope Android in the future, we are evaluating that possibilty.
FW Editor: PocketShield Protection Edition is a great product and personally I love it. However, there are still many people who prefer to use similar application. What can you tell to convince them that PocketShield Protection Edition is better?
JD: It's a lot of things as it fits a lot of usage preferences, so will depend on the type of use you give to your lock screen. But in almost each aspect it will always offer a big plus. We design each feature to be as useful and ergonomic as possible. In very general terms we can say that with PocketShield you have: 1) Quality, 2) Personalized customer support and 3) Unlimited upgrades for free.
FW Editor: How can you describe PocketShield Protection Edition in one single word? Why?
JD: "Smart protection". Because it is not only a rude lock, it offers personalization and sort of an operational intelligence.
FW Editor: What are the advantages of having a full PocketShield Protection Edition license?
JD: You get: Updates and new versions for free, 24x7 fast support, unlimited skins, an optimized lock engine runtime consuming les RAM, no "evaluation" timer screen.
FW Editor: Can you tell us more about the idea that stays behind PocketShield Protection Edition? What made you believe that a product like PocketShield Protection Edition was necessary?
JD: In the past, stock lock screens were very limited so PocketShield was the perfect suit. Today most devices bring an integrated lock screen, and there are also about 10 free lock screen applications out there so it is tough for us. Indeed I believe we are the only paid lock screen app. But still PocketShield has a great value and many people prefers it over the alternatives.
FW Editor: Do you have any message or anything you would like to share with PocketShield Protection Edition users?
JD: Never try it!! (haha... joking)
