FW Editor: Which are the main advantages of using melodyMe over any other similar application?
Matt Ryder: Portability. Many people have 10GB+ iTunes Libraries. When you are using your friend's PC and you know a track they may like, you can show them in melodyMe.
Oh, and ease of use. Everyone can download the client rather than shift over 10GB+ every time they move to a different PC.
FW Editor: melodyMe allows you to create and manage playlists. Are these playlists saved on a server or into user's computers?
Matt Ryder: They are stored on the user's computers, in their Application Data directories. I think this is better in the long term to ensure the integrity of playlist data.
FW Editor: It is possible to download music files and play them with melodyMe? Can a user create its own music collection in his computer using melodyMe?
Matt Ryder: Not now, but this is something I am looking into for later project.
Although, you can download the tracks from melodyMe and play them in iTunes etc.
FW Editor: Many albums are protected by copylaws. Are there any restrictions in using melodyMe?
Matt Ryder: This software uses multiple online servers to grab HTTP links to the MP3 files. The only 'restriction' is the Download Link feature, which you consent that you're a naughty person by using it.
FW Editor: What shall we expect from melodyMe in the future? Do you have any plans for future versions or are you happy with its current state
Matt Ryder: This is a community driven project, you request - I implement.
I will continue to bugfix and add bits here and there, but in it's current state, I'm proud of it.
FW Editor: Thank you for accepting this short interview. Now, if you have any message or anything you would like to share with melodyMe users, feel free to do that.
Matt Ryder: If you've got a feature you'd love to see, please email or get in touch with me!
It's YOUR software, I only make it happen! :D
