FW Editor: What are your plans or objectives in the near future?
Wojciech Rychlik: We are still working on adding some new features for Oligo 7. It will be a free update to Oligo 7 owners.
FW Editor: How and when did you start writing the code for Oligo? What inspired you the most? Do you plan to develop new software, or are you more focused on optimizing the current ones?
Wojciech Rychlik: It was initially made as a freeware in 1986. Lack of a similar software was a reason. We're comitted to improve and add more features to the existing software.
FW Editor: Oligo is one of the best applications for molecular biology study from the market. What is the secret?
Wojciech Rychlik: 20 years on the market tought us as well.
FW Editor: Do you plan to improve or change Oligo in any way? If yes, what shall we expect from Oligo in the future?
Wojciech Rychlik: The future version will have more integration with Internet-based databases.
FW Editor: Unfortunately molecular biology is not that well represented as computer software. What determined you to focus on this market area?
Wojciech Rychlik: My job.
FW Editor: What are the advantages of using Oligo instead of a similar product?
Wojciech Rychlik: It is a very thoroughly tested software. Still, if a customer finds a bug, we usually fix it within days, that is not common in this industry. Some features are available only in Oligo.
FW Editor: How can you describe, using just a few words, Oligo?
Wojciech Rychlik: Please see our home page, http://oligo.net/
FW Editor: Now, to end our small interview, is there any message you would like to send to Oligo users?
Wojciech Rychlik: Fell free to visit our web site, and drop me a line.
