FW Editor: What are your plans or objectives in the near future?
Mahmoud Al-Qudsi: We're working on expanding our portfolio of applications, covering areas that are in dire need of quality freeware to solve everyday problems. There's a lot of room for new utilities, and we're trying to decide where to start next.
FW Editor: How and when did you start writing the code for EasyBCD? What inspired you the most? Do you plan to develop new software or are you more focused on optimizing the current ones?
Mahmoud Al-Qudsi: I started EasyBCD during the days of the Windows Vista beta program - I was formatting and reinstalling up to 8 or 9 times a week and needed a quick and easy way to change the bootloader configuration... and EasyBCD was born. Over the years, we've focused on making it simultaneously both easier to use and more powerful than ever, with more features than any other bootloader utility on the planet... and we're always looking for more features to add!
FW Editor: Can you tell us more about the most important features and tools available in EasyBCD?
Mahmoud Al-Qudsi: EasyBCD allows users to change and improve just about anything in the bootloader. It covers basic cosmetics such as changing the names of entries, setting the timeout, etc. and offers powerful options such as the ability to add entries for Windows, Linux, and Mac or even boot from ISO images, USB disks, and more.
FW Editor: What is the most important feature from EasyBCD?
Mahmoud Al-Qudsi: I think the most important feature of EasyBCD is that it's so simple and intuitive to use.
FW Editor: Can you tell us more about this feature? Why it is so important? Is EasyBCD the same without it?
Mahmoud Al-Qudsi: It doesn't matter how many features an application has, if it it's not immediately apparent to the user how to take advantage of these features, they're not worth much. EasyBCD has a lot of features, but without the easy-to-use interface and simple configuration options, it definitely wouldn't be the same.
FW Editor: Do you plan to improve or change EasyBCD in any way? If yes, how are you going to do that?
Mahmoud Al-Qudsi: We're always working on making EasyBCD better. In addition to the constant bugfix releases to address various compatibility issues on different systems, we're always adding new features ranging from supporting newer versions of Windows and Linux to completely new features such as the ability to create bootable disks. Right now, we're looking at integrating GRUB2 into EasyBCD for a slew of new features.
FW Editor: Can EasyBCD corrupt or modify your Motherboard?
Mahmoud Al-Qudsi: Nope. EasyBCD is confined to the software, and will never affect your motherboard or CPU. As such, if anything should go wrong, it's always an easy fix away. We have downloadable tools and online guides to help users fix their systems, and make sure they can boot into Windows.
FW Editor: Now, to end our small interview, is there any message you would like to send to EasyBCD users?
Mahmoud Al-Qudsi: I want to personally thank everyone who's used our software over the years, with a special thank you to those of you helping us find bugs and spread the word. EasyBCD wouldn't be the same if it weren't for all your tweets, blogposts, and recommendations - thank you!
