FW Editor: How and when did you start writing the code for MooSick Minimal Music Player?
Philipp Ruppel: About four months ago, I realized that the player I used at that time took far too much space on my desktop and crashed much too often. That's when I put together a very first version of MooSick that consisted just of a simple database view, a search box and a play button.

FW Editor: MooSick Minimal Music Player is one of the best music players from the market. What is the secret?
Philipp Ruppel: Usability and Stability. A music player should get you as quickly as possible to your favourite songs.

FW Editor: Which audio formats are supported by MooSick Minimal Music Player?
Philipp Ruppel: Allmost everything digital you can somehow listen to including well-known formats like WAVE, MP3, Ogg, CDA and WMA, but also many lesser-known ones. For example, you can even play things like DVDs, video files, youtube downloads or the contents of a digital radio stream, add them to your playlists and assign meta tags to them even if the format itself doesn't support metadata.

FW Editor: Are you happy with MooSick Minimal Music Player success? Have you expected more?
Philipp Ruppel: What I'm really happy about is that it is already being adopted by professionals for PA, broadcasting, dance lessons, etc. However the download count itself is about what I've expected.

FW Editor: Why would you recommend MooSick Minimal Music Player over any other similar application? Why is MooSick Minimal Music Player better than Winamp for example?

FW Editor: Can you tell us more about MooSick Minimal Music Player filters?
Philipp Ruppel: The one, I've got most positive feedback about is the speed control that they say to sound better than those of any other software-based music player. Another interesting one is the "live" filter that creates an impression of the music surrounding the listener. When using headphones, the "Phones" filter might also be very useful to compensate the typical headphone sound. When changing the playback speed, don't miss the "resample" button. If the dynamics of a speed-changed song sounds wrong, try activating compressor, gate and normalizer.

FW Editor: What is your favorite MooSick Minimal Music Player feature and why?
Philipp Ruppel: Stability. I'm using MooSick for 4 months now and it has never crashed so far and is still very fast and responsive despite the huge ammount of songs I have loaded into it's database.
