FW Editor: What are your plans or objectives in the near future?
Jukka Poikolainen: I am improving the program all the time based on the user feedback. Major features under development are 24-bit multichannel audio support and BluRay burning.

FW Editor: How and when did you start writing the code for Easy CD-DA Extractor? What inspired you the most? Do you plan to develop new software, or are you more focused on optimizing the current ones?
Jukka Poikolainen: Originally it was just a hobby that started by the friend's comment 'Why you can't rip CDs to MP3 direct?'. So I made the first version in the Xmas holidays in 1997 and it was the first program that was able to rip CDs to MP3 on-the-fly without using 3rd party command line encoders. I am mostly focusing on improving the Easy CD-DA Extractor but I also have other projects in development.

FW Editor: Easy CD-DA Extractor is one of the best music converters available at this moment. What is the secret?
Jukka Poikolainen: It has very user friendly interface and includes all popular audio formats and all features (rip, converter, edit metadata, burn CD/DVD) are available in the same package for affordable price. Easy CD-DA Extractor has become very well known because it was one of the first CD rippers available back in 1998. I am improving the product all the time, and not just focusing for the new technical features but also overall user experience.

FW Editor: Converting an audio format to another will maintain the same audio quality?
Jukka Poikolainen: Full audio quality is only preserved when going from lossless to lossless format (E.g. FLAC, Apple Lossless, WMA/Lossless, Monkey's AUdio). Lossy encoders such as MP3, AAC, and WMA always lose quality when encoding but whether you can hear the difference really depends of the encoding quality (bitrate) used.

FW Editor: Easy CD-DA Extractor has quite a strong competition but, so far, it succeeded in making a name for itself. What do you think about the huge Easy CD-DA Extractor success?
Jukka Poikolainen: I am happy to see its popularity and I love the positive feedback and it gives me inspiration to develop it further and make it better all the time.

FW Editor: What are the advantages of using Easy CD-DA Extractor over any other similar product?
Jukka Poikolainen: You can do multiple tasks with the same pleasent interface and all popular audio formats are included without downloading additional codecs or add-ons.
