FW Editor: What are your plans or objectives in the near future?
Rüdiger Werner:

FW Editor: How and when did you start writing the code for Reisekostenabrechnung? What inspired you the most? Do you plan to develop new software, or are you more focused on optimizing the current ones?
Rüdiger Werner: In my job as a field service technician I had been traveling very often. In Germany every business travel shall be accounted since there are allowances that are granted and expenses to be compensated. The software that I had to use in this time had its limitations and was missing important features. So I decided in 1999 to create a new application, that covers all required features and makes it easy for the user to enter all necessary data for travels in a minimum of time. The software has been well tested and used by my colleagues. They gave many good suggestions of which I mostly implemented in the software. Due to the introduction of the Euro as European currency and many changes in the regulations new features and functions have been implemented in the application. So the program has become a powerful tool for quick, easy and accurate accountancy of business trips for employees and freelancers.

FW Editor: Reisekostenabrechnung is available in German language only. Do you plan to add a Multilanguage support in the future?
Rüdiger Werner: The software is intended for use in Germany, since it works according to German law and regulations. If there is a demand of non-German speaking people that are employed with a German company, I will be happy to add the multilanguage feature to the software.

FW Editor: Is there anything you would like to change in Reisekostenabrechnung? There are some extra features that you may like to have? Is there anything that is not working as intended and you are planning to remove it?
Rüdiger Werner: Currently the application is a stable version. When there are changes in the regulations or new requirements in the future I will develop the software further, as required.

FW Editor: What is the core feature from Reisekostenabrechnung? Why?
Rüdiger Werner: The core feature from Reisekostenabrechnung is the clear and simple user interface that enables the user to enter travels very quickly and accurately. Most of the travelers visit their customers frequently. The application remembers all visited places and the user only needs to select the desired entry from a list. All information is filled into the respective fields, only date and time of the departure and the arrival need to be filled in. Then all expenses are entered, again the software supports the user by different categories of expenses, such as tanking, tickets, hotel, proofs of hospitality and others. All allowances are calculated instantly after saving the travel data.

FW Editor: Can you tell us more about this feature? What makes it so important?
Rüdiger Werner:

FW Editor: How can you describe Reisekostenabrechnung in just a few words? Why?
Rüdiger Werner: This travel accountancy software helps all people who have to travel in their job and who are employed in Germany doing their paperwork easily for travel accountancy.

Rüdiger Werner: My message and my wish I would like to send to all the users is to keep up sending me suggestions and wishes to be included into the software, so that it can become better and helps more people to do the paperwork in a fast and efficient way.
