FW Editor: To begin with, can you tell us a few things about ShotSolutions? What are your goals? Are there any important projects you are currently working on?
Oleksandr Reminnyi: First of all, I'd like to say hello to all people reading this interview. My name is Oleksandr, I'm the StepShot product manager. StepShot is our main product (there are some others, but they are prototypes yet), and we develop our product in front of buisness, in front of our customers. So customer satisfaction is our main goal. We are improving StepShot constantly and that is the main product for us.

FW Editor: StepShot is your first important software. Usually, a software company must release several applications before it becomes popular and appreciated. However, StepShot already received numerous awards and positive reviews. Is this success unexpected?
Oleksandr Reminnyi: It is a pleasant fact. The secret of the application is that it was developed from scratch and features included were the need of one our customer, who consulted us and provided feedback. That is why we feel that our product really gets positive feedback from other customers and now is rather popular.

FW Editor: StepShot comes with a trial version (30 days). Are there any major limitations in this version?
Oleksandr Reminnyi: No, we decided to give ability to use all the features at once. Maybe after new version is released, we will provide minor versions for trial period, but now - you can do everything.

FW Editor: How can StepShot help a common computer user in creating a professional looking guide or manual?
Oleksandr Reminnyi: There is some missunderstanding. The goal of the application is not a proffesional looking guide. It's a quick guide, and it's creation is taking minutes. Just capture screenshot series and annotate them. And then do direct Word export. This quick guide can be attached and send to your customers or partners at once. For example, one of your employees cannot configure firewall for some application. You want to create some document (to add it to the knowledge base or send to the employee) Then just start StepShot (window-on-click recording mode), and do the usual procedure on your computer. Then stop recording, export to Word and send!

FW Editor: StepShot can export a project in Word documents. Is there any support for PDF files? Many guides, manuals and help documents are released in PDF format.
Oleksandr Reminnyi: We are planning the Pro edition. It will contain this functionality and a lot of other useful features.

FW Editor: What is the key StepShot feature? Can you tell us a few words about this feature?
Oleksandr Reminnyi: It's not the feature, it's the idea of creating fast guide.

FW Editor: Is StepShot supporting multiple monitors? If not, do you have any plans to add this feature?
Oleksandr Reminnyi: No, at the second is only primary monitor is supported. Yes, the feature is planed.

FW Editor: Is there anything else you would like to add about StepShot? Do you have any message for your customers and fans?
