FW Editor: What are your plans or objectives in the near future?
: The current plan is to increase the popularity in the near future.

FW Editor: How and when did you start writing the code for SoMud? What inspired you the most? Do you plan to develop new software, or are you more focused on optimizing the current ones?
: It took more than a year for us to plan and develop. We'll focus on expanding and optimizing current product in the near future.

FW Editor: SoMud is one of the best P2P applications available at this moment. Can you tell us more about its core features?
: Our initiatives are to incorporate P2P download and legacy HTTP/FTP download into one downloader, make download easier and faster. Current release has these features implemented, although more need to be improved. Further, web video download feature is added to SoMud. Video download utilizes SoMud's HTTP download capability, so the downloading speed is a lot faster than normal downloader. SoMud is not just a downloader, it helps you share your files and create your own videos. You can create your own TORRENT file to share. You can record your desktop motions into video and capture your camera video as well. These video/audio can be further converted into any supported formats to distribute by using SoMud's media converter plugin.

FW Editor: Is there anything you would like to change in SoMud? Do you plan to add some new tools and options in future versions? Is there anything that is not working as intended and you are planning to remove it?
: We plan to optimize SoMud and add more features or tools into it. We'll see if there are some features that are rarely used and take valuable system resources, if so, we'll remove them in future release.

FW Editor: SoMud si completely free and this is a great thing. Are you planning to keep it like this forever?
: Yes, we'll keep it free forever to make it available everywhere if possible.

FW Editor: What are the advantages of using SoMud over any other similar product?
: It has many features that other P2P downloaders and HTTP/FTP downloaders don't have or not have in one product as mentioned in "Core features" question. Compared with other similar P2P downloaders, SoMud provides a easy embedded search engine interface that bypasses the need for downloading torrent file and open that torrent file, which is not straightforward and confusing for people having no P2P knowledge. With SoMud, P2P search and download are very easy. SoMud is a cross-platform program, nearly all of SoMud's features are exactly the same on both Windows and Mac. In the future, we may consider building Linux versions. SoMud is completely programmed in C++. From programming language point of view, that is more native and more efficient than other Java based cross-platform programs.

FW Editor: How can you characterize SoMud in a single word? Why?
: This question is very interesting. In a single word, it can simply So-Mud where Mud stands for the English word "mud" - people are indulged in it, and SoMud logo has similar meaning.

FW Editor: Can SoMud track damaged, corrupted or incomplete files and stop you from downloading them?
: For P2P files and torrents, it can detect incorrect or damaged files data. In P2P downloading, all data received from peers or other URLs will be verified, if corrupted, these data will be discarded and will be requested again until correct data is received. So once a task is complete, it means not only the file data has been downloaded and the file's integrity has been verified. Sometimes, some evil P2P clients can send mal-formed or dummy data, SoMud can detect these situation and ban the clients. You can check the statistics of how much corrupted data received for a task: highlight a task and select "Statistics" tab.

FW Editor: Now, to end our small interview, is there any message you would like to send to SoMud users?
: We should make users assured that their private information is never collected or transmitted. Comments are all welcome.
