FW Editor: What are you plans or objectives for the near future?
Handcase: With a portfolio of over 350 products for PalmOS, we intend to expand the supply of apps through the porting and mobile content for all mobile platforms. Gune was the beginning of this process.
FW Editor: Do you plan to expand 'Gune' website or are you planning a new project?
Handcase: Gune is one of the services, we will have many more, all based on products already developed. Imagine 100 apps for PalmOS, transforming themselves into web services. But Gune have versions in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. And their algorithm is being refined to provide better results.
FW Editor: Are you still expanding the compatible device list for 'Gune'?
Handcase: We Gune for Android, Blackberry, Simbian, Java devices, Windows Mobile, Meego, Maemo, Moblin, LiMo and PalmOS, missing only devices with Bada and WebOS systems, which will soon be available. With this we have for all mobile systems. Just to iPhone, we will not, because we want to work for this device.
FW Editor: Will you add the third site to the metasearch, next to Google and Bing?
Handcase: We intend to add a third that can be ASK. But the goal now is to refine the algorithm so that it provides results without duplication and better positioned, enhancing the relevancy of results. Then there is the addition of other languages.
FW Editor: Why are you selecting the indexed sites manually?
Handcase: For the directory, yes. In the case of search queries, search results, are automatic, based on the algorithm we developed.
FW Editor: Why don't you add a description to the links listed in the directories?
Handcase: The goal here is to create curiosity about that mobile content. How was the beginning of the Internet. You looked at a link and thought to be a cool website. So we thought, we'll make people want to access a mobile site by curiosity. Of course you're a Sports section and see how a link, you know that will access a website for mobile sports, in some cases even know the title of the link that site is, but it is only this. Curiosity moves people. The links we have selected are good, then just access.
FW Editor: What is your 'Gune' favourite feature?
Handcase: We'd say they are two, the system searches and ergonomic interface, designed exclusively for mobile devices.
FW Editor: Is there any message you would like to send to the 'Gune' users?
Handcase: With Gune, people can save time and money (no need to access each individual search engine and consume more connection). So we say, non-stop use because they will be saving time and money.
