FamousWhy Editor: RegexSR is an interesting tool (JAVA), developed by Michel Deriaz, the same developer who also released Rename Files. RegexSR was developed in JAVA and it is designed to be a handy application when it comes about regular expressions search and replacement.
I think Michel Deriaz intended to make RegexSR as simple and intuitive as possible because it incorporates a simplistic interface. Almost all major functions are displayed on the "main screen".
Beside finding and replacing expressions, RegexSR also provides several additional functions like transforming expressions into Java code, and allows the user to create his own expressions.
As I have said above, RegexSR is extremely easy to use. There are 4 important tabs: Text, Filename, Parameters and Summary. Most of your work in done inside "Text" tab. There are two distinctive sections: Source to match and Matching panel and some additional options like "Pattern flags".
"Filename" tab will display you a complete list with all imported files. It also allows you to add/remove files or to replace them.
Several RegexSR customization options can be found in "Parameters". From here you can set your application language or Search timeout (defines how much time a search operation can last in the Text tab before being stopped).
"Summary" is more of a "Help" tab. Here you can find a complete list with all regular extensions like "characters", "characters classes" or "predefined characters classes".
