SL – NTFS (Snow Leopard NTFS) is a preference pane that enables you to write on NTFS formatted disks (they are commonly used by Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7).

Snow Leopard has the ability to write on NTFS, even though the prior Mac OS X versions were only capable of reading the NTFS disks / partitions, but because Apple does not officially support it, the capability of writing to NTFS is disabled by default.

This is when SL – NTFS comes in very handy. This application is basically an interface for configuring the NTFS driver from Apple, thus any problems you might encounter will be related to the Apple driver probably, and not the SL – NTFS.

Be careful, when you use SL – NTFS to not use another program of the same kind because it might lead to some trouble.

The installation of this program is very simple, as you only need to download and unzip the SL – NTFS archive, launch the installer and follow the prompts.
The program is very easy to use because the developer did a very nice job making a very easy to use user interface.

If you ever get bored of this program, or you just want to erase it from your computer, you can do that with a simple use of the uninstall button in the 'about' tab of the SL – NTFS Preference Panel.
