FamousWhy Editor: Twigatelle is a small Java based game. The principle is quite simple. The user can shoot balls and these balls can bounce around (hitting other balls). The more bounces you have, the more points you get. Also, there are some special balls (pink ones) that can unlock special bonuses.
A good example is the "Assassin mode". In this mode, your ball can instantly destroy another ball earning a maximum amount of points. On top of that, the movement speed is greatly increased.
The idea is to score as many points as possible and destroy all balls before you run out of "ammunition". It may sound like a simple job but in reality is quite complicate. Basically, you have no control over your ball after this ball is launched. All you can do is watch how it bounces around and hope it will hit as many targets as possible.
From graphical point of view, Twigatelle doesn't look that bad but it doesn't look great either. Some levels are well designed with beautiful colors. On the other hand, there are several levels that can drive you insane. Just imagine a dark green background with some dark blue, red and pink balls on top of it.
Twigatelle consists in 17 different levels (with increased difficulty of course). As the balls movement cannot be controlled and it's quite unpredictable, completing a certain level is heavily based on luck. Personally, I was able to advance to level 3 only.
Overall, Twigatelle is not a bad game but I would recommend it to pinball-type games fans only.
Why is Twigatelle famous?
Twigatelle is famous because it is a simple game developed in Java inspired by any number of those pachinko-type games where little thingies bounce around hitting other thingies in a slightly hypnotic way.
