FamousWhy Editor: USB Flash Security is a security software that protects data in a USB flash memory by a password.
First, you must install USB Flash Security on your PC. After that, you may want to install it on your USB Flash Drive. This is done through the software you previously installed on your PC. You connect the USB drive, and the software will perform a check and will require you to install the USB flash memory into PC. If the drive of USB flash memory is displayed, you must choose the drive and click the Install button.
Be careful because USB Flash Security will delete any data on the USB drive. The screen of the password setting is displayed and you must input the password and a hint, then click the OK button. The program will install itself on your USB drive. When installation to the USB memory is completed, autorun.inf and UsbEnter.exe are copied by USB memory.
If it is not installed properly, the capacity of UBS Flash Memory will be [0.00GB] and it will be displayed in the main screen of [USB Flash Security].
If it is properly installed, the capacity of USB Flash Memory will be its real value and it will be displayed in the property of UBS Flash Memory.
From now on you will need a password when you will connect the USB Flash Drive to the PC.
USB Flash Security will create the following two areas on your USB flash drive:
- a small area about 0.5MB to save "Release tool" - It can be access without password, when the USB flash memory is inserted into PC. Data in this area is not protected, so it is called the "Unprotected Area"
- a area to save data that you want to protect - This area is all of the USB flash memory except the "Unprotected Area". Password is necessary to access this area. This area is protected by a password, so it is called the "Protected Area".
