For example, if you want to convert a file into a MP3 you havethe following options:
- select an 'external tool' like lame.exe;
- set the 'preset' from b320 (320 Kbps), V0 (245 Kbps), V1 (225 Kbps), V2 (190 Kbps), V3 (175 Kbps), V4 (165 Kbps), V5 (130 Kbps), V6 (115 Kbps), V7 (100 Kbps), V8 (85 Kbps), V9 (65 Kbps);
- set the 'constant bit rate' (CBR) from 16 to 320 the default is 128;
- set the 'variable bit rate' (VBR) if you don't want a CBR you can set the max bitrate and the min bitrate between 16 to 256;
- create ID3v1, CUE or a Playlist (M3U).
You can convert many formats at once by using "Multiple" output mode.
The 'Input file Settings' allows you to either move the original file to Recycle Bin or to rename the original when replacing the source file. From the 'Output file Settings' you can specify the filename pattern and the path where the converted files will be saved.
xrecode II supports Parallel conversion by utilizing power of multi-core CPUs. It also supports embedded CUE sheets (for FLAC, WavPack, APE and TAK files) and mp4 and *.mka chapters. With other words it can split mp4 and *.mka by chapters to any supported format). And if it can split files, it can also merge input files to one large audio file and create CUE sheet.
This software includes a built-in Metadata editor with Cover Art support. It has support for LossyWav - a free, lossy pre-processor for PCM audio contained in the WAV file format. xrecode II is able to decode RealAudio (*.ra) files, but you need to install Real Player or Real Alternative.
