FamousWhy Editor: Yasst is a free and easy to use twitter client. You can use is to check tweets, post new tweets and all the other actions that a twitter application requires.
You will make most of the actions from the toolbar that can be found on the top of the application. From here you can:
- Show or hide the tweet panel.
- Refresh tweets from twitter. Depending on how many lists are open this could use a large amount of API.
- Open the options window, where you can add or remove accounts and change other settings.
- Shows all the tweets for the current account, including searches.
- Shows all your friends tweets, this is like your home feed on the twitter website.
- Show tweets where you have been mentioned.
- Show your direct messages.
- Opens your favorites in a list.
- Opens an internet feed tab, enter the URL of a web feed to populate.
- Open the list management window, the list menu where you can create a new local group, the lists you created or other people's lists you follow.
- Opens a new search list.
- Opens a user info list where you can enter the name of a twitter user to get info.
- Shows current trending topics on twitter. Click on a topic to view the tweets.
- Switch current account, this will affect which account is used when using any of the toolbar controls.
Under Yasst toolbar you will see the column of tweets. The number on the top right indicates the number of tweets in this column, a number in brackets indicates the number of unread tweets, a number in square brackets indicates the number of tweets visible after filtering. To the right of this is the avatar of the account that owns this column.
On the tweet panel you can write down your thoughts. Once Yasst realizes your are typing a URL it will highlight it. Short URLs will be highlighted in green, but once they get over a certain length they will turn yellow and the Shorten button will appear. Clicking this will shorten any long URLs using the bit.ly URL shortening service.
Using the Upload image button you can upload an image with your tweet, this uses the TwitrPix image upload service to post your tweet.
